Cole & Mason is a celebrated British brand best known for its stylish and innovative salt and pepper mills. Founded in London in 1919 by David Cole, the company initially traded in giftware before developing its first pepper mill in 1946. Over the following decades, Cole & Mason became particularly associated with well-designed tableware combining practicality with contemporary British style.

Its mills have been produced in a wide variety of materials, including wood, acrylic, metal and glass, with both traditional and modern designs. Vintage Cole & Mason pieces are increasingly collected today, particularly unusual mid-century designs and early wooden examples.

M. C. Hersey & Son is a respected British silversmithing firm whose origins lie in the traditional London silver trade. Michael Hersey began his apprenticeship as a silver spinner with William Comyns & Sons in 1955, later working for C. J. Vander before establishing his own business. His son Stewart joined him in 1981, and the firm became M. C. Hersey & Son in the mid-1980s.

Known for beautifully made sterling silver tableware and gifts, including candlesticks, wine coasters, napkin rings and pepper mills, Hersey combines traditional hand craftsmanship with clean, understated design. The family business continues to produce silverware today.
