James Deakin 1930's EPNS Zeppelin Airship travelling bar cocktail shaker set.

This is an absolutely wonderful and exquisite set made by James Deakin and Co, in the 1930's. Silver plated, in EPNS, it is of fantastic quality, in the form of a zeppelin airship. The set is fully complete and includes a strainer, four graduated cups, a flask, a garnish case, a corkscrew bottle opener, and a filter. The components are made to a high standard and are designed to fit entirely within the body of the cocktail shaker to be stored, which is secured shut by the airship cabin design, which is stamped with the makers' marks.

This is a delightful, original design based on the incredibly rare design by Henkels. This design was later reproduced by a German firm DRGM.

James Deakin and Sons were founded in Sheffield, England in 1866. Known for their high quality silver and silver plate items, they had showrooms in London and Chester. The firm ceased to be in 1940 following the outset of WWII, with this set having been manufactured shortly before then, in the 1930's. It truly evokes the glamour of the early part of the 20th Century.

The piece is in overall excellent, clean vintage condition with only minor superficial signs of use. It is ready to be used and loved.
